49B Teak Dining Chairs

Jaw dropping teak dining chairs by Erik Kirkegaard, Model 49B.

This model of chairs is one of the most iconic Danish chairs designed by Erik Kirkegaard in the 1950s. Simple lines, quality craftsmanship and functionality. The chair is made of solid wood, mostly teak, with an elegant curved backrest that supports the body and a wide comfortable seat, recovered in black leatherette.   The armrests, resembling cow horns, are a striking detail, sitting at just the perfect height to hold your arms.

A set of 6 in such excellent vintage condition is rare. Each seat has 49B marked beneath.

Excellent vintage condition.  Seamless joints. Solid and stable frames. Seats have been recovered in black leatherette. Some minor vintage wear and marks may remain across frames. One chair has had repairs to backrest support.
